Lake Forest Air Conditioning, Heating, and Plumbing Services
Lake Forest is really two different housing generations in one city, and NEXGEN treats them that way. The older core, developed in the 1960s and 70s when the area was still known as El Toro, sits alongside newer master-planned sections like Foothill Ranch and Portola Hills built in the 1990s — and each comes with different plumbing risks. South Orange County's expansive clay soil doesn't care which decade your home was built in, though; it swells and contracts with the seasons and puts real stress on underground lines citywide. We factor your home's era and its soil conditions into every estimate.

Air Conditioning & Heating in Lake Forest
Lake Forest's inland canyon terrain means Santa Ana wind events here can be stronger than in flatter parts of Orange County, with gusts that push dust and debris straight into an outdoor unit and spike temperatures well above normal. Summer highs regularly reach the upper 80s even without a wind event. We check both your system's exposure to wind-driven debris and whether it's sized for the heat this city actually sees.
Plumbing in Lake Forest
If your Lake Forest home has had more than one slab leak, expansive clay soil is very likely part of the story — it's a known contributor to slab leaks across South Orange County, and it doesn't discriminate between an older El Toro-era home and a newer Foothill Ranch build. Add in water from Irvine Ranch Water District and El Toro Water District that runs moderately hard to hard depending on the blend, and you've got ongoing wear working on your plumbing from both inside and outside the pipe. Patching a slab leak without checking the rest of the line just buys time before the next one.
Signs You Need a Repipe
- More than one slab leak in the past few years
- Persistent low water pressure that a single repair hasn't fixed
- Discolored water, particularly in an older El Toro-era home
- Repeated repairs on the same section of pipe
- Visible cracking in flooring or walls near known plumbing runs
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I keep getting slab leaks in my Lake Forest home?
South Orange County, including Lake Forest, sits on soil with a notable expansive clay component that shrinks and swells with seasonal moisture changes, putting ongoing stress on underground and slab plumbing lines. If you've had more than one slab leak, it's worth having the full line inspected rather than patching each leak individually.

Can't Say Enough Good Things
“My thermostat took a dive on me so I went to replace it. That's where I met Breanna at Home Depot she advised me on the Ecobee one and normally I don't use big companies because of cost is always higher since they have higher overhead. However, at $49 for a diagnostic they sent someone out and that's when things got even better Lazaro was our technician. He was trustworthy and communicative and effective at explaining to me and my wife what he's doing to our unit and why. In the end because of his demeanor and character I chose to get work done through his company. I got an ionizer placed and he patched a few areas where air was escaping. Cleaned condenser and added a second capacitor and cleaned the fan on inside of my house as well as checked the coils which were fine. In summary the company is trustworthy or at least my experience was good. At at a $49 diagnostic fee it was worth it to have someone come out and let me know where I'm at. Can't say enough though about Lazaro he sold me on trusting next gen so if everyone is like him you'll find value.”- S.S. -
Trustworthy Team
“My technician Joseph was a solid and upstanding dude. He took his time doing an inspection of my old hvac system. He let me hover over him and helped educate me on the different components of the furnace and AC units. He didn’t tell me what I wanted to hear, but he told me what I needed to hear. Would trust him and his team to do my maintenance and future installs for my home.”- Andrew W. -

“My AC stopped working and gave me a power failure message. Ryan was dispatched as the technician to assist. He was great, he quickly diagnosed the issues (fuses and capacitors). He gave me practical solutions and was great to work with. If I have issues in the future I will be asking for him specifically.”- Roger D. -
